According to the famous book Decorative Golf Collectibles
by Shirley & Jerry Sprung, “Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic
Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control
around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company.” The
early pieces marked “CAC” for Ceramic Art Company are coveted by
collectors.

here is a scarce circa 1889-1895 Ceramic Art Company Porcelain Beer Stein w/ Silver Lid. The
stein contains a hand painted image of 1886 & 1887 British Amateur
Champion Horace Hutchinson. This stunning ½ liter beer stein stands 6
3/4" tall.
