Bobby Jones' amateur status prevented him from profiting off golf during his legendary golf career. With Jones retiring after winning the Grand Slam in 1930, it was finally time to cash in. Jones agreed to a deal with Warner Bros. to film a series of golf instructional films titled "How I Play Golf." The "How I Play Golf" series was wildly popular, and was shown throughout the country in movie theaters.

We believe that only two types of advertisements were produced for "How I Play Golf" in 1931. This is a 2 page advertisement from the 1931 Motion Picture Herald magazine . This is original to 1931, and advertises the initial release of the famous series. In addition to an image of Bobby Jones, the add announces that Jones will be playing "himself" in the series, and that 1862 movie theaters were on board.

Very good condition. 12 "1/2" x 20", and professionally framed to 18" x 24".
