Offered here is an item we like to describe as a "Dream Piece." A piece of memorabilia so unthinkably rare or unique that any thoughts of owning it could only occur in a dream.

Without further ado, presented here is Bobby Jones' actual shoe worn to secure the Grand Slam at the 1930 US Amateur at Merion Cricket Club.

Emory University famously owns the right shoe worn by Bobby Jones to win the Grand Slam. That shoe, along with Jones' clubs owned by Augusta National, represent the most significant artifacts directly tied to Jones and the most important feat in Championship golf history. Well, we found it.

While the shoe at Emory has been a cornerstone piece of the museum's collection for years, the matching shoe was still at the bronzing service, The Bron-Shoe Company. Apparently it had been in the company's possession for many decades until it was recently liquidated when Bron-Shoe closed shop in early 2018 after 80 years in business. Remember bronzing your child's first shoes? Bron-Shoe was the industry leader. And part of their business was also bronzing the shoes of famous athletes after significant achievements - such as winning the Grand Slam.

Now, in this auction, Bobby Jones' bronzed shoe from his Grand Slam in 1930 is being offered to the public for the first time. This shoe comes with a letter of provenance from Bron-Shoe, though it can be easily photo-matched with the right shoe in Emory's collection. Emory's shoe exhibits some incredible patina that doesn't yet exist on the offered shoe, but Bobby Jones' other 1930 Grand Slam winning shoe is well preserved for generations to come.
