What a find! Far rarer than USGA programs from the same era, early PGA Championship programs simply do not exist. This is only the second 1928 PGA Championship program that we've ever seen, and this copy grades in better condition than its predecesor. This exquisite program features Walter Hagen on the cover, as the Haig had won 4 consecutive PGA Championships!

The 1928 PGA Championship is one of the most famous (or infamous) in history, as Leo Diegel supplanted Walter Hagen as the PGA Champion. But when it came time to award Diegel the Wanamaker trophy, it was nowhere to be found. Hagen did not bring the trophy with him, and told the story that he lost it in a Chicago taxi cab. The original Wanamaker trophy would later be found in a warehouse at L.A. Young - the company that manufactured the Hagen line of golf clubs. 

This is certainly one of the most visually stunning Major Championship programs ever produced. This program is listed in the 2004 Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles at $3000. But due to its extreme rarity, its value is, to us, far greater than that.
