In 1961, Karsten Solheim first produced the PING 69 putter, and a patent was received in October 1963. In his advertising, Karsten referred to the 69 series of putters as "Hot Dog" putters because of the shape of the head. Though Karsten preferred the name "69," which he described as "a pretty good golf score." This Scottsdale PING 69 putter is in excellent condition. PING moved from Scottsdale to Phoenix in mid-1966, so this putter pre-dates that move.
