Presented here is one of the only known programs from the 1929 US Amateur, which was held at Pebble Beach. This was the first time the US Amateur ever went to the west coast. It's also the very first time that Pebble Beach hosted a Major Championship - over 4 decades before Pebble Beach first hosted the US Open.

In a surprise, Harrison Johnston won the Match Play event, while Bobby Jones, who won the event 4 of the previous 5 years, didn’t survive the first round. Bobby Jones' trip out west would not be a waste, however. His unexpected free time resulted in him playing Cypress Point, and then hiring its architect Alister Mackenzie to design Augusta National just a couple years later.

This program is in excellent condition - because it has been housed for decades in its original mailing envelope.
