In the 1920s, Walter Hagen was a dominating force on the PGA Tour and in the PGA Championship. Entering the 1927 PGA Championship at Cedar Crest CC in Dallas, Hagen had one three straight PGA Championships. The Haig was fortunate to get past the semifinals, however, as he met a red hot Al Espinosa. Hagen would hang to beat Espinosa 1 up. Hagen would then defeat Joe Turnesa in the finals to win his record 4th consecutive PGA Championship.
