This is a hand painted bench from the 1964 US Open at Congressional, where eventual champion Ken Venturi famously battled the oppressive heat and ignored doctor's advice to withdraw or risk heat stroke. This bench was made for a single spectator. While we don't know for certain, this seems to be a custom piece that is either unique or was produced in extremely limited quantities for the 1964 US Open. Bench measures 32" wide and it stands 24" tall.
