Offered here is one of the earliest - and most famous - Bobby Jones magazines in existence. In 1924, Bobby Jones was just a one-time Major Champion, after winning the 1923 US Open. Hardly the magazine cover-worthy celebrity he would eventually become. Even so, Liberty Magazine famously put the young Bobby Jones on the cover because it had an interesting story to tell. We may now regard the great Bobby Jones as the ultimate southern gentleman, but that was anything but the case early in his career.
Offered here is the famous (or infamous) "How Bobby Jones Overcame his Temper" 1924 issue of Liberty magazine. To say that this magazine is rare would be an extreme understatement; Jones wouldn't even win his 2nd Major until that year, yet here he is on an early magazine cover featuring a low point in Jones' life and career. This rare magazine is complete and is in nice condition.
