When the United States joined World War I on April 6, 1917, professional sports in America essentially came to a halt. Golfers, and fans of golf, were fortunate that exhibition matches were then staged across the country to raise money for the war effort. This is a rare original 1917 ticket to a golf exhibition featuring Francis Ouimet. The proceeds of this exhibition at Tedesco Country Club in Massachusetts went to support the Eighth Regiment Fund. Excellent condition. 2 5/8" x 2 5/8". Surely one of the only surviving tickets.
