This is actual wood golf ball box from B.F. Goodrich in 1897. Apparently trying to emphasize the high quality of BF Goodrich golf balls before the turn of the century, BF Goodrich departed from the traditional cardboard golf ball boxes to release a dozen balls in this lovely wood box. "Goodrich Golf Balls" on the top, and a clean label on the interior. Contains two stamps underneath: Dec 30, 1896 and May 27, 1897.
Just a year later B.F. Goodrich would change golf forever with their invention of the rubber core Haskell golf ball.
