In 1903, James Kinnell invented a unique hosel-blade putter. Though he applied for a patent on the design, he may not have finished his application. Very few Kinnell putters were likely produced, and Jeff Ellis in The Clubmaker's Art remarks that he had only located a single Kinnell putter. The offered putter is a 2nd known example, and we must say that it is in superior condition to the one that was once part of the Ellis collection.
Kinnell's putters were forged by Tom Stewart of St Andrews. This putter has a bold pipe stamp indicating that it was made in Tom Stewart's shop. 32 1/4", very good condition.
