Though the 2009 Open Championship at Turnberry ended in heartbreak for Tom Watson, it remains one of the most popular tournaments in recent memory. The 59 year old Tom Watson nearly did the unthinkable. He nearly won the Open Championship for the 6th time - the oldest Major Champion by over a decade. The golf gods were not kind to Watson, however, as a brutal bounce on the 72nd hole cost him the victory.
