To golf fans, it's simply known as "The Concession." On the 18th hole with the deciding point on the line during the 1969 Ryder Cup, Jack Nicklaus graciously conceded a short putt by picking up Tony Jacklin's ball marker. This ended the 1969 Ryder Cup in a stalemate, which reportedly made American Captain Sam Snead livid. But Snead's competitive drive overlooked an important point - that Jack Nicklaus' gesture would become more iconic than whatever result would have occurred whether Jacklin's putt had gone in or not.

The game of golf prides itself on being a game of class and integrity There is perhaps no finer example of this than "The Concession."

Offered here is Tony Jacklin's actual ball marker that Jack Nicklaus picked up and handed back to him - the actual act of concession that changed the history of golf. Accompanying this museum-worthy piece of memorabilia is a detailed letter of provenance from Tony Jacklin himself.

Gold colored Sterling Silver ball marker that was a gift from Jacklin's then-wife after his victory earlier in 1969 at the Open Championship. Engraved with Tony Jacklin's first initial - a cursive "T."
