In 1954 Golfcraft developed the first fiberglass shafts for golf clubs, which threatened the end of steel shafts. They signed the great Lloyd Mangrum to an endorsement deal, and for several years only sold these shafts to golf pros and with the Mangrum line of clubs. Starting in 1965, figerglass shafts began to be used in other lines of clubs and eventually by other manufacturers. Though they did not replace steel shafts altogether, fiberglass shafts remain a dominant force in the industry.
Offered here is an original circa 1950s hand painted wood sign advertising Mangrum Glasshaft Golf Clubs." 13" x 13 3/4".
