Offered here is a set of three circa 1937 MacGregor Crooker Patent bullet-shaped "Streamliner" woods. According to Jeff Ellis, "Crooker's patent focuses on aerodynamics and is full of scientific calculations on wind resistance, velocity, mass, force and other matters." This set of three Streamliner woods are in excellent condition with little sign of use, some varnish has worn off in places.
These clubs originate from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and were featured in his books, The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 525; TCA 2, p. 663). These clubs have not reached the collector market since their sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
