Offered here is one of the famed Urquart's Adjustable Irons that has been part of the legendary personal collections of both Harry Wood in the early 1900s and Jeff Ellis in the late 1900s/early 2000s. Quite remarkably, it is our understanding that the offered club has only had 4 owners over the past 110+ years - Harry B. Wood, North Manchester Golf Club, Jeff Ellis, and our consignor.

This circa 1897 Urquart adjustable iron is in very good condition. Some damage to the shaft just above the hosel, and the grip has been replaced at some point. The adjustable mechanism is working freely.

This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 360; TCA 2, p. 440). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
