Offered here is a circa 1925 John Wilson patent "Crolf" duplex club. Crolf is a hybrid of golf and croquet that enjoyed popularity in the 1920s. According to Jeff Ellis, "less than ten Crolf clubs are known." Very good condition.
This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 543; TCA 2, p. 688). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
