Offered here the Ping Zing 2 putter head that Curtis Strange used during 4 PGA Tour victories. The putter has an infamous backstory, as Curtis Strange broke the putter in anger after 3 putting the 13th hole during the first round of the 1986 Houston Open. Strange then discarded the putter head into a nearby pond, which was retrieved by our consignor who was a witness to the scene! Strange finished the round by putting with his wedge.

Our consignor then got Curtis Strange to autograph the putter after Saturday's round. Then something amazing happened - Curtis Strange went on to win the tournament (with a new putter, of course). That leads to newspapers around the country covering the story of Curtis Strange's broken putter en route to victory.

It was widely reported that the broken putter was used by Curtis Strange to win $542,321 in 1985, including victories at the 1985 Honda Classic, 1985 Las Vegas Invitational, 1985 Canadian Open, and 1986 Houston Open (well, for only 13 holes in that one!).
