In 1993, Bernhard Langer won the Masters Tournament using a putter made by a little-known puttermaker named Scotty Cameron. Soon after, a bidding war erupted for Cameron's services, with Titleist being the obvious winner. And the rest, as they say, is history...

Well, after the 1993 Masters Tournament, but before Scotty Cameron signed with Titleist in 1994, Scotty Cameron made his first "victory putter" to commemorate the historic event that changed his life. 930 of these Classic I Augusta Winner putters were produced, with most randomly distributed to accounts that ordered the Classic I from Scotty.

But offered here is not a typical one of those Augusta Winner putters. According to Scotty Cameron expert and supercollector Bill "Vog" Vogeney, this is a much rarer "Made for Tour" version of the Classic 1 Augusta Winner. The Cameron stamp on the cavity helped with visibility if the putter was shown on television. The putter also contains a welded flow neck. According to Vog, there are 4 or 5 of these versions known to exist.
