At the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach, Tiger Woods recorded what may go down as the most dominant single performance in golf history. The US Open prides itself on being the toughest test in golf. The 2000 US Open proved to be no different with 155 of 156 players finishing above par. That lone golfer who finished under par was, of course, Tiger Woods at an unbelievable 12 under par en route to a 15 stroke victory. Offered here is an actual Tiger Woods scoresheet from the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach, beautifully signed by Tiger Woods.
At many professional and amateur tournaments, an official scoreboard is kept with the scores of each participant, and often done in calligraphy. This scoresheet was part of the 2000 US Open scoreboard on display on the Peter Hay golf course at Pebble Beach, and the scores were kept by calligrapher Charlie Jones, an assistant pro at nearby Monterrey Peninsula Country Club. When the event was over and the scoreboards were being taken down, our consignor was able to obtain this scoresheet from Jones. Several years later, Tiger Woods was back in the area for a charity event and our consignor got Tiger to autograph it on the left side.
This is an original calligraphy Tiger Woods scoresheet from the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach and measures approximately 47" wide and 9" tall. Another auction house recently sold a Tiger Woods scoresheet (unsigned) from the 1996 Greater Milwaukee Open for $69,000.
In addition to Tiger Woods, this scoresheet was also signed by the calligrapher Charlie Jones, who added the date of the final round of the 2000 US Open, 6-18-00.
