Offered here is a circa 1923 MacMahon's Patent Metalwood. According to The Clubmaker's Art, McMahon patented a black painted cast metal head into which are secured hardwood inserts and a balancing weight. Overall very good condition with some worn areas including on the sole. 

This club originates from the famed Jeff Ellis Collection, and this exact club was featured in his books The Clubmaker's Art (TCA 1, p. 291; TCA 2, p. 348). This club has not reached the collector market since its sale at the 2007 Sotheby's auction of the Jeff Ellis Collection.
