Offered here is a circa 1918-1919 Spalding Patent "Ded Stop Mashie Niblick" fitted with a Lard's Patent "Whistler" Perforated Steel Shaft. When swung, the perforated steel shaft would create a whistling sound, hence its nickname. According to The Clubmaker's Art, "Allan Lard's perforated steel shaft was produced by Spalding for only two years."
Excellent condition. The head is stamped Pat. Applied For Jan 12th 1914 & Pat. Applied For Aug 19th 1916.
