This is a rare original set of 1961/62 PING 69 Golf Clubs. These were the very first irons produced by PING founder Karsten Solheim. They are also one of only 3 forged designed clubs (PING 69s, then PING 68s, then PING Ansers) that Solheim made before going to cast clubs. Approximately 100 Ping 69 sets were produced by Karsten Solheim in 1961 and 1962, though few included a 2 iron and even fewer contained a 1 iron. This is a full 10-piece set, 1 iron through PW. Even better, this set has the original bent shafts. The USGA famously declares the PING bent shafts non-conforming, so Karsten had to send a letter to every customer offering to replace the shafts at his cost. This set was never returned to Karsten, and retains the original nonconforming shafts and original grips! Very good condition. Only the 1 iron has the original cavity sticker.
