Bobby Jones famously retired at the age of 28 in 1930. This was not the complete end of Bobby Jones playing golf, however. The following year, in 1931, Jones did participate in a few charity outings - often drawing extraordinary crowds seeking to get a glimpse of the returning star.

We know that Bobby Jones, who had previously been unable to cash in on his golf celebrity due to his amateur status, spent time in Los Angeles in 1931 to film for Warner Bros. PSA Type 1.
