Truly significant 1969 letter from Bobby Jones (and follow-up correspondence) explaining the origin story of his legendary Calamity Jane putter. In this letter, Jones discussed how he obtained Calamity Jane from Stewart Maiden, and the significance of the markings on the putter. He goes on to discuss Spalding making him a copies, and putting one of those copies into play. And then he mentions his allowing Spalding to commercially produce copies of Calamity Jane in 1931. An historic personal account of perhaps the most famous golf club in history - Bobby Jones' Calamity Jane putter.
