Extraordinary 1st edition, original binding of the 1832 book Ancient Customs, Sports, and Pastimes of the English by Apsin. Great early references to "Goff" and how it is played. Pages 217 and 218 are detailed descriptions of "Goff" including details of how the ball is made of leather and feathers, methods of play, scoring, etc. It also mentions how the number of holes played is optional (18 holes was not yet an agreed upon standard). A great addition to any serious golf library.
