This is a rare (probably unique) original Type 1 photograph of Harry Vardon and JH Taylor at the 1901 Open Championship at Muirfield. Vardon and Taylor both fell short of James Braid in the championship but finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. This snapshot photograph originates from the Estate of JH Taylor, and contains Taylor's own handwriting on the reverse. JH Taylor wrote that this photograph was taken on the 2nd day of the 1901 Open at Muirfield. Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA as an original Type 1 photograph.
