At the 1923 US Open, a 21 year old Bobby Jones broke through and won his first Major Championship. Offered here is the original Monday July 16, 1923 New York Times newspaper which announced Bobby Jones' victory. Years before he would become a household name and have a ticker tape parade in Manhattan, the headline states that "21 Year Old Georgian Downs Scottish Star at 18th Hole." Little did they know at the time, that the 21 year old Georgian would go on to be one of the greatest to ever play the game.
This original New York Times newspaper is an historic find, and it has been impressively framed to 30" x 34".
