Offered here is a circa 1900 metal die-cut calendar advertisement for Johnnie Walker whisky. According to a Johnnie Walker expert that we contacted, this early golf advertisement was produced "prior to 1909", which was determined based on the company's full corporate name located at the bottom of this piece.

Collectors often point to the Silver King as golf advertising collecting's Holy Grail, though we've heard at least one collector argue that it should be this Johnny Walker piece.

This approximately 115 year old tinplate die-cut advertising calendar measures 8" x 14". Quite impressively, this rare calendar even comes with original paper date and month inserts, which are seldom seen. An example of this piece is depicted on page 53 of the 1994 book Miller's Golf Memorabilia, which describes this "perpetual calendar" as "one of the most sought after calendars." This exact piece can also be found on the cover of the March 2014 Golf Collectors Society Bulletin.

High grade condition. Of the few known examples, this is almost certainly the one in the best condition. For a tinplate item to still be in this condition after over a century is truly remarkable. Comes with only the paper inserts that are pictured, though these are original.
