Offered here is a scarce original wood golfer figure by celebrated French sculpture artist and architect Andre-Vincent Becquerel. To our knowledge, only two of these circa 1920s yellow clothed wood golfer figures still exist.This example is exceptional, and depicts an impressively dressed golfer. The only other known example currently resides in a private collection, and was featured in the collecting book A Passion for Golf. 

This is a large piece, standing 18 1/2" tall. Signed by the French artist A. Becquerel. Very good condition. Right foot is loose. Some chips and marks on this delicate ~100 year old piece. A remarkable find!
