Offered here is a rare original PSA Type 1 photograph of Old Tom Morris in front of the R&A Clubhouse at the Old Course at St Andrews. The clarity on this approximately 140+ year old photograph is incredible. Judging by the age of Old Tom in this image, this photograph likely dates to 1870s-1880s (the PSA slab says 1890s but Old Tom's age makes it clear that it's a little earlier than that). As advanced collectors know, PSA Type 1 Old Tom Morris photographs are rare, especially because a substantial majority of photographs from that era were mounted to board/cabinet cards thereby making them ineligible for PSA classification.
