Here he is - The Silver King.

The Silver King is one of golf collecting's Holy Grails. This iconic advertising figure was produced somewhere in the 1910s to 1920s. Silver King was intended to be a countertop advertising display for a sporting goods store or golf course pro shop that sold Silver King brand golf balls. Surely due to the fact that it is made of papier-mâché, very few original Silver Kings are known to exist.

It has been estimated that up to 15 original papier-mâché Silver Kings have survived. Of those known Silver Kings, this is one of only 3 we've seen with this gorgeous yellow shirt color scheme. In April 2014, we sold a Silver King for over $58,000 - the current record price paid for a Silver King figure.

The offered Silver King is brand new to the hobby, and is being consigned directly from the Australia based owner that quietly enjoyed it for many many years.

Additional Note: The exact origin of where these Silver Kings were produced has always been a mystery, but the base of this Silver King figure is marked "Milton of Campsie, Scotland," which is a small town north of Glasgow. What an incredible discovery!
