Offered here is a rare Dunlop 65 "Dunlop Man" advertising figure. Dunlop Man advertising figures are coveted by collectors, but this is the first time we've ever offered the rarer small Dunlop 65 version. This figure advertises the Dunlop 65 golf ball that earned its name from Henry Cotton's famous 65 at Royal St. Georges in the second round of the 1934 Open Championship. This figure was clearly produced in much smaller quantities than the larger Dunlop Man figures. We can only find record of one other example, and that one sold in a Bonhams auction 15 years ago.
Condition: Very good condition with original clubs, small paint chips. Shoulder strap is a replacement. Stands 12" tall with a 4.5" base.
