Offered here is a rare early 1900s Spading Gold Medal concave mid iron. The patent for this "mildly concave" iron is either patent obtained by Foulis brothers in 1905, or the Sharpe patent of 1906. Though these concave or dual-face irons are more often found in shorter irons (e.g. mashie and mashie niblick), the offered club is a mid iron. The bottom of this club is closer to a modern 7 iron, and the top a modern 5 iron. Very good condition with great maker's marks.
