This is the famous Spalding 'Double Waterfall" dedstop mashie. This club is one of the most sought after antique clubs, and is considered a cornerstone piece for any serious antique club collection. The back of the head contains a deep Spalding Kro-Flite stamp and logo. This club is believed to have only been sold by Spalding in 1919, unlike the more common single waterfall design. This club, along with all other deep groove irons, was short lived. Use of deep groove clubs was outlawed by the R&A in 1921, and the USGA in 1924 because it applied too much backspin to the ball.
This rare and coveted Spalding "Double Waterfall" dedstop mashie niblick is in very good condition with incredible, bold head stamping.
