Offered here is the scarce circa 1902 Black's Patent Double Roller Sole putter. Marked "Black's No. 11463 Patent" inside an oval on the crown of the putter. The shaft is stamped by J&A Dickson of Edinburgh. This club was designed to prevent the ground impacting the putting stroke. This splice neck club is in excellent condition with both rollers still working ~120 years later. According to author and noted golf club historian Jeff Ellis, there are only five known examples. The most recent public sale of a Black's Patent Double Roller Sole putter was for $6,060 in 2023.
