When we received this photograph of a young Bobby Jones back from PSA, it came with a handwritten note from PSA's Henry Yee that said "this is one of the most incredible golf photographs we have ever authenticated." Since Yee is the world's foremost sports photograph expert (he's the one who developed the Type 1 through 4 system of grading photographs), we cannot think of a greater compliment.

Offered here is an historic original photograph of 17 year old Bobby Jones at the 1919 US Amateur at Oakmont. The teenage Bobby Jones shocked the golf world at Oakmont - reaching the US Amateur finals while still in high school. This photograph was taken by George Pietzcker, who is widely regarded as the great golf photographer in history. Until we found this photograph, we did not realize that Pietzcker photographed Bobby Jones in 1919, which is a few years before the next known photograph of Jones by Pietzcker.
