Made and marked by the "Asbestos Rubber Company," this early 20th century putter features a large, scalloped flange and a face scoring pattern unlike any other.

The Asbestos Rubber Company, established in the early 20th century in the UK, was a notable player in the industrial sector, particularly known for its use of asbestos in manufacturing various rubber products. Because the company was not in the club manufacturing business, the company likely produced this club as part of a larger order.

The flange on this putter is a stylish rarity.  Flanged putters made during the late 19th and early 20th century are few and far between.  This one has a unique shape across its rear edge.  It's the different designs that were tried and then rejected that make for highly interesting collectibles.

The 33 3/4" shaft is original. Grip is original. Face has unique pyramids, dots and criss-cross scoreing. A unique  club in outstanding condition!
