Offered here is an oversized mounted photograph of the Cambridge University golf team c.1890. The image shows a team of young men, alongside some professionals, a greenskeeper, and honorary secretary, W.T. Linskill (dressed in high collar, knickerbockers, and spats). The reverse is handwriting that says “Cambridge” and something else that we cannot quite make out. The photograph is by celebrated photography studio Elliott & Fry in London located at 55 Baker Street. Entire original matted piece 15 7/8” x 13 3/4”. Fair to good overall condition with some discoloration, and some chips and tears to matting.
