Opposite of the giant niblick is Aitken’s dwarf-blade putter. When it comes to the long and shot of it, this blade has the short of it covered! Aitken filed for a British patent on this putter in November of 1895. but later abandoned his application.

Aitken’s short-blade putter was short-lived. Apparently concentrating the weight behind the ball by putting all of the blade behind the ball didn't appeal to many golfers. In a 1895 review of this club, the reviewer ended up recommending this putter for lady golfers as it might help some of them?  Either that or he was hoping they liked to both golf and shop.

Nevertheless, Aitken was a club and ball maker of the highest reputation and this club is well made. The shaft measures 35 inches and has its original white kid leather grip. The shaft is stamped " Aitken Maker Gullane." This was part of the World Golf Hall of Fame's collection and display, and WGHOF Inventory number "274 " is discreetly written on the sole. Blade is extra thick to provide the clubhead with the proper weight.
