There is no question that the McEwans made some great clubs, as this c1865 long spoon testifies. The  42” original shaft has an old leather grip that was installed back in the day.  There are two lead buttons on the sole, and the club has an excellent hooked face. The neck has replacement whipping. The head measures  5 3/4" in length, 1 1/8" in face depth, 2 1/16” in width. The original finish is in outstanding condtion. Thee is a small crack on the top of the club out at the toe. It is discreet and does not call attention to itself, and but a tiny part of what is otherwise an outstanding club.
