Here he is - The Silver King.
The Silver King is one of golf collecting's Holy Grails. This iconic advertising figure was produced somewhere in the 1910s to 1920s. Silver King was intended to be a countertop advertising display for a sporting goods store or golf course pro shop that sold Silver King brand golf balls. Surely due to the fact that it is made of papier-mâché, very few original Silver Kings are known to exist.
It has been estimated that up to 15 original papier-mâché Silver Kings have survived. In April 2014, we sold a Silver King for over $58,000 - the current record price paid for a Silver King figure.
Good+ condition. "Made in England" on the bottom. 14" tall on a 7" x 4 7/8" base.
