In early 1967, Karsten Solheim entered into an agreement with Mark McCormick, the agent for Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, that allowed Gary Player Golf Enterprises to sell Ping putters bearing the endorsement of Player. (And The Putter Went Ping p 93-94)
This Karsten Co., Gary Player Ping Anser has the famed Scottsdale Anser head which has been a favorite with a number of Tour pros across the years. In 2016 while playing in a web.com Tour event, Stephan Jaeger used a Karsten Co. Anser to shoot a 12-under 58. Jaeger was the first player on the PGA or Web.com Tour to score such a crazy low number.
This putter is in very good condition with its original 35” shaft and replacement Golf Pride grip. “Gary Player” script is nicely stamped on the sole. Karsten Co. Ansers were the first Ansers marked with a Phoenix address.
