Though original Type 1 photographs of Bobby Jones are plentiful, but early career examples are scarce. Offered here is a wonderful photograph of Bobby Jones being hoisted by his admirers after returning home from winning his 1st Major Championship at the 1923 US Open. Clearly the 21 year old Bobby Jones was not yet a household name, as the press slug on the reverse incorrectly calls him "Bobby White."  

This photo was captured as Bobby Jones returned to Atlanta "as a conquering hero" and the crowd carried Jones from the train to his car.
