George Pietzcker is the most famous (and collectible) golf photographer in history. His exquisite works sell for a huge premium over every other golf photographer, as his work is seen as artwork as much as photography.
This is an original photograph by Pietzcker of the great Jerry Travers in 1911. Travers famously won 5 Major Championships in his career - the US Amateur 4 times and the US Open in 1915.
This rare large format original Pietzcker photograph measures 19" 3/4 x 15 3/8". Very good condition. George Pietzcker stamp on bottom right. The quality of this photograph cannot be overstated, as it is truly stunning in person.
This original Pietzcker large format photograph of Jerry Travers has been part on the World Golf Hall of Fame for many years. If you ever visited the World Golf Hall of Fame, you likely saw this large photograph on display. It is being consigned today directly by the World Golf Hall of Fame.
