This is a scarce 1898 1st edition of An ABC of Golf, by a Victim. One of the rarest early American golf books. Produced in New York (The Blanchard Press) in 1898. This is one of only 12 golf books that were printed in the United States before 1900. The fragile nature of the way this book was produced likely accounts for how few still exist. Printed lithographic illustration on heavy green-gray stock paper with the original extraordinary burlap front cover. 11" x 8 1/2".

Cover is completely separated from the bool. Book has some water damage to the interior near the spine and has 2 pages that have separated from spine. Otherwise the contents are on good condition. Should be professional rebound. Listed in Gilchrist's Guide to Golf Collectibles at $2,150.
