Offered here is a circa 1900 metal die-cut calendar advertisement for Johnnie Walker whisky. This early golf advertisement was produced "prior to 1909", which was determined based on the company's full corporate name located at the bottom of this piece.
This approximately 115 year old tinplate die-cut advertising calendar measures 7 3/4" x 13 1/2". Quite impressively, this rare calendar even comes with original paper date and month inserts, which are seldom seen. An example of this piece is depicted on page 53 of the 1994 book Miller's Golf Memorabilia, which describes this "perpetual calendar" as "one of the most sought after calendars."
One of the few known surviving examples.
