Offered here is a Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 Detour First Run of 500 putter.
Vog says: To the experienced collector, these Detour putters are overlooked if not just ignored. I recall visiting Scotty's studio in early 1996 and seeing some of the prototypes of the Newport 2 and 2.5. Scotty and I talked about the Detour and what he was trying to do with the curved alignment. At the time I was using a Newport 2 GSS with flangeline, and I was struggling with my putting. That flange line (a new thing for me) got my stroke going straight back and through, not on an arc. The Detour was designed to reinforce that a proper stroke should have some arc. Scotty wound up giving me one of the tour prototypes to test. The first round I ever played with it I shot 75 (a rarity for me) and I made 4 birdies. To this day, if my stroke gets wonky, the Detour comes out and I practice with it until my stroke gets worked out.
Length is 34", with matching headcover, condition is unused, grip in plastic, 9.8 out of 10.
