Offered here is Jack Nicklaus' actual golf ball and golf glove from the final round of his victorious 1972 Masters Tournament. Major Championship winning golf balls and gloves are virtually non-existent in the hobby, as so few were ever saved or even documented.

Jack Nicklaus famously fired an opening round 68, and then went wire-to-wire to win the '72 Masters - his 4th of an eventual 6 Green Jackets. Nicklaus was also the only golfer to finish under par for the tournament.

Unlike almost all other Major Championship-winning golf balls or gloves, this pair comes with exceptional documentation and provenance. Accompanying these items is a letter from Jack Nicklaus himself, who wrote:

I am pleased to verify the authenticity of the items presented for my review as those given to my late friend Robert Hoag. These items consist of a golf glove and golf ball which were used by me in the 4th round of the 1972 Masters Tournament, which I won.

Also accompanying these items is a letter from the Hoag family attesting to the provenance, as well as additional information about Robert Hoag's close relationship with Jack Nicklaus, including how they co-founded Muirfield Village Golf Club. These's also a vintage business card of Robert Hoag that contains handwritten details about the 1972 Masters golf ball and golf glove.

The ball is a MacGregor Tourney 4 with Jack Nicklaus and J stamps. The glove is a yellow Star Grip glove that was briefly popular on tour in the early 1970s. A search of Getty Images will show numerous photographs of Jack Nicklaus wearing this glove during the final round of the 1972 Masters Tournament.

These historic items from Jack Nicklaus' victory at the 1972 Masters are framed with some exceptional pieces of memorabilia from that tournament including:

-Actual 1972 Masters Tournament player's invitation
-Original 1972 Masters Badge that is autographed by Jack Nicklaus
-1972 Sports Illustrated Magazine with Jack Nicklaus on cover
-Jack Nicklaus signed photograph of Jack receiving green jacket at 1972 Masters
